Have terrible bags under my eyes. Am 40 but have had them years, as have always been a bit of a non-sleeper, as have been used to getting up at 6 every day since being a paperboy aged 13.
Average around 6 hours now probably, though was more like 4 hours when I was drinking every day.
Older you get, the more tired you become and I had my lifes first afternoon nap within the last year.

Don't know. I usually wake up 3 or 4 times a night and sometimes it takes a while to doze off again, so unless I have a stopwatch I don't know.
I should retire earlier, but stopped going to bed early since my Mum stopped telling me to go to bed.

I have a lot of trouble sleeping and I'm more than happy if I get 6, but often get less and have always woken stupidly early.
Smart phones definitely don't help as so easy to reach across and start browsing rather than trying to go back to sleep.

I've been on sleeping pills for the last 15 years, just don't sleep at all otherwise. It's a bugger. About 6 hours with them.

It's all about those bio- rhythms, innit?
I think mine are roughly 2.5 hour cycles, so I usually get two (5hrs), 7.5 if I'm lucky. Typical rhythms are between 2.5 to 3.5 hours cycles.
You'll all have experienced when you wake up an hour veofr ethe alarm is due, wide awake, but looking at the clock you think nice one, another hours sleep. Put your head down and when the alarm goes off an hour later, you're a zombie on valium. Trying to get up up on the downstroke is no easy feat,

On average between 5 or 6 hours a night... maybe a 10 min power nap in the works bogs a couple of times a week... never been a big sleeper... mate at work has to have between 8 and 9 hours a night otherwise he cannot function.... dont think I have ever had 9 hours kip in one night in my life

Same here Sniper...we have a 2 year old, a kitten and a huge puppy.
The chances of getting 8 hours are almost 0.
When I say almost, I mean they're not quite that high.
Only going to get worse in December too.

you need more and long term it won't do me any favours but i cannot break that pattern
generally feel ok but eyes heavy, for obvious reasons
